Our home should be a place of wellness, not hidden toxins. Over the years, I’ve made simple swaps to reduce harmful chemicals and create a cleaner, healthier living space for my family. From non-toxic cleaning solutions to safer everyday essentials, these are the products I trust and use daily. Small changes can make a big difference—so let’s start with the essentials!
Branch Basics is my go-to for safe, effective, and truly non-toxic cleaning. Their Laundry Kit makes washing clothes simple and chemical-free, delivering a deep clean without harsh ingredients. If you’re looking to start making your own non-toxic cleaning products, I highly recommend the Premium Starter Kit—it’s an all-in-one solution that makes switching to a healthier home effortless!
Seventh Generation is a brand I trust for safe, eco-friendly cleaning products. Their dishwasher soap, hand soap, and stain remover are staples in my home because they clean effectively without harsh chemicals or artificial fragrances. I love that they’re plant-based, biodegradable, and better for both my health and the environment.
Better Life makes non-toxic cleaning simple and effective. I love their Floor Cleaner, All-Purpose Cleaner, and Bathroom Cleaner because they get the job done without harsh chemicals. They’re plant-based, biodegradable, and free from synthetic fragrances, making them a safe and eco-friendly choice.
ECOS is a fantastic brand for eco-friendly, non-toxic cleaning products that actually work—and it's one of the more affordable options compared to other non-toxic brands. Their Laundry Detergent, Multi-Purpose Cleaner, and Dish Soap are some of my favorites because they’re plant-powered, biodegradable, and free from harsh chemicals.
DIY Non-Toxic Cleaning Recipes
If you want to make your own cleaning products (that’s what I do!) using simple and safe ingredients like vinegar, baking soda, and essential oils, follow these easy recipes. They’re cost-effective, free from harsh chemicals, and just as powerful as store-bought cleaners!
All-Purpose Cleaner
2 cups distilled water
1/2 cup white vinegar
10 drops lemon essential oil
10 drops tea tree essential oil
👉 Mix in a spray bottle and shake before each use. Perfect for countertops, kitchen surfaces, and more!
Bathroom Cleaner
1 cup baking soda
1/4 cup liquid castile soap
10 drops eucalyptus essential oil
10 drops peppermint essential oil
1/2 cup water (adjust for desired consistency)
👉 Apply to surfaces, scrub, and rinse for a fresh, deep clean.
Window & Glass Cleaner
2 cups distilled water
1/2 cup white vinegar
1/4 cup rubbing alcohol (70% or higher)
10 drops lemon or peppermint essential oil
👉 Mix all ingredients in a spray bottle and shake well before each use. Spray onto glass or mirrors and wipe with a microfiber cloth for a streak-free shine!
Laundry Detergent
2 cups baking soda
1 cup washing soda
½ cup liquid castile soap
10 drops lemon essential oil
👉 Mix all ingredients in a large container and stir well. Use ¼ cup per load for fresh, clean laundry.
Dishwasher Detergent
1 cup baking soda
½ cup salt (helps with scrubbing and softens water)
½ cup citric acid
10 drops lemon essential oil
👉 Store in an airtight container and use 1-2 tablespoons per load.
I hope these trusted brands, simple swaps, and DIY recipes help you create a healthier, non-toxic home. Making small changes—like using cleaner products and homemade alternatives—can have a big impact on your well-being.
